There are places where the water seems to have a mind of its own.
It curves around the rocks, slips quietly into the smallest spaces, and changes direction whenever the landscape asks it to. There is no straight line to follow and no hurry to reach the other side. It simply finds its way.
Where the Water Wanders was inspired by that kind of quiet movement. The soft blue lines at its center seem to drift and turn like water seen from above, while the gently wandering edges give the piece a shape that feels as though it found its own way too.
I like the thought that we could borrow a little something from water.
That we don't always have to know exactly where we're going. That changing direction doesn't mean we've lost our way. And that sometimes the most interesting places are found when we allow ourselves to follow the bends instead of looking for the straightest path.
Maybe wandering isn't really about being lost at all.
Maybe it's simply another way of finding where we're meant to go.
