Some things aren't meant to follow a straight line.
They curve. They change direction. They take unexpected turns and somehow become more interesting as a result.
That is what this piece makes me think about.
There is so much movement here. The edges rise and fall, never quite repeating themselves, while warm shades of brown, cream, and caramel seem to move right along with them.
It reminds me a little of looking at the earth from above.
Layers of sand shaped by wind. Water finding its own path through the landscape. Hills and valleys formed slowly over time. Nothing perfectly even and nothing exactly planned, yet somehow it all belongs together.
Maybe there is a lesson in that.
We spend so much time wanting things to go exactly the way we pictured them. Straight paths. Predictable outcomes. Everything neatly in its place.
But some of the most beautiful things happen when the path bends.
When something changes.
When we stop expecting everything to be perfectly even and begin appreciating the shape it actually takes.
This piece certainly didn't choose the straight path.
And I think it is much more interesting because of it.
