A certain kind of quiet seems to happen only in a garden.
Not an empty quiet, but one filled with little things you might miss if you aren't paying attention.
Leaves moving just enough to catch your eye. Flowers beginning to open. A bird somewhere nearby. The kind of stillness that makes you want to stay a little longer before going back to everything waiting for you.
That feeling was what kept coming to mind as this piece came together.
The deep blue floral design became the center of the piece, surrounded by smaller flowers and open, creamy clay. I loved the contrast between the detailed pattern and the soft, irregular edge, and the hint of blue-green along the outside became one final detail that wasn't meant to compete with the flowers, just quietly frame them.
It reminds me that beautiful things don't always need our attention.
Sometimes they are simply there, growing and changing while the rest of the world carries on around them.
And every once in a while, we are lucky enough to be still long enough to notice.
