What we Nurture Grows
There are some things in life that only grow because we choose to keep tending to them.
A garden needs water and sunlight. Flowers need time. But I think the same is true of so many other things we hope to keep alive.
Friendships.
Family.
Dreams we almost gave up on.
The parts of ourselves we are still learning to make room for.
When I was working on this piece, the little watering can filled with flowers kept bringing me back to that thought. The heart on its side seemed to make the message even clearer.
The things we love do not always flourish on their own.
Sometimes they need our attention.
Sometimes they need patience.
And sometimes they simply need us to keep showing up, even when we cannot yet see what is beginning to grow.
The flowers spilling from the watering can and the butterflies moving around them feel like the beautiful part that comes later. The part we get to see after something has been quietly cared for over time.
What We Nurture Grows is a reminder that the things we give our time, love and attention to have a way of becoming something beautiful.
