The Turning Season
There is always a day when you realize the season has changed.
Not the day marked on the calendar, but the one you actually feel.
The morning air is a little cooler. The light coming through the windows looks different. You reach for a sweater without thinking about it, and somewhere outside, the first few leaves have begun to turn.
It happens quietly.
Summer doesn't disappear all at once, and autumn doesn't arrive in a single afternoon. For a little while, the two exist together: warm days followed by cool evenings, green leaves tucked among shades of gold and brown, open windows during the day and something warm simmering in the kitchen by night.
Maybe that's what makes this time of year so beautiful.
It doesn't ask us to rush from one season into the next. It gives us a little time in between.
A chance to notice what's changing, enjoy what's still here, and look forward to what's coming.
The Turning Season reminds us that sometimes the loveliest place to be is right in the middle of becoming something new.
