Cherry Season

$68.00

There is something about cherries that feels like summer before you even taste one.

They bring to mind bowls piled high on the kitchen counter, warm afternoons that seem to stretch forever, and those simple moments when nobody is watching the clock. You reach for one cherry, then another, and before long there is a little collection of stems beside you and somehow half the bowl is gone.

Cherry Season was inspired by that kind of memory.

At first, your eye is drawn to the soft green interior, with its beautiful movement and changing shades that feel almost like looking through leaves on a summer afternoon. But this piece has a little secret.

The cherries are waiting underneath.

Turn it around and bright red cherries begin appearing along the outside, following every rise and dip of the softly shaped edge. Turn it over and an entire garden of cherries is revealed red fruit, delicate stems and green leaves scattered across the surface as though they have been growing there all along.

I love pieces that make you want to pick them up and look a little closer, and this is one of those pieces. There is something new to discover depending on how you see it.

Maybe someday it will sit in the middle of a table filled with fresh cherries. Maybe it will become part of a family gathering. Or perhaps it will simply live somewhere it can be seen and enjoyed every day.

Whatever eventually finds its way inside, I hope Cherry Season becomes part of someone's own collection of ordinary little moments that, somehow, turn into memories.
