Some of the most beautiful things in nature take their time.
Stone is shaped one layer at a time. Water slowly carves its path through the earth. Mountains change in ways we could never notice from one day to the next.
And eventually, all of those tiny changes leave behind something extraordinary.
That is what this piece makes me think about.
The layers of cream, sand and warm brown seem to move across the surface like a landscape that has been forming for years. Some lines are soft and quiet. Others twist, turn and suddenly change direction.
There isn't one pattern to follow.
Your eye simply wanders.
And perhaps that is what makes it so interesting.
We tend to notice the big moments in life the beginnings, the endings and the milestones in between. But so much of who we become happens much more quietly.
A lesson learned.
A direction changed.
A little more patience than we had yesterday.
One layer settling gently over another.
Until one day, we look back and realize that time has been creating something all along.
Maybe we are all a little like that.
Still being shaped.
Still becoming.
Still allowing the layers of our lives to create something that could never have existed any other way.
