It starts with one cool morning.
A pumpkin brought home for the porch. A few leaves beginning to change. An acorn tucked into a pocket during a walk because, for some reason, it was too perfect to leave behind.
Then little by little, the season begins finding its way indoors.
The windows stay open a little less. Something warm starts simmering on the stove. The blankets come back out, and suddenly the colors outside seem to belong inside too.
There is something comforting about the way autumn gathers around us.
